WORK OVERWHELMS ME

The blind man… shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!”  “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus replied.  “Lord, please let me see.”  Jesus told him, “Have sight; your faith has saved you.”   He immediately received his sight and followed him, giving glory to God. When they saw this, all the people gave praise to God.  (Luke 18: 38, 41-43)

 

When work this day overwhelms me, Jesus, Son of the Living God, have pity on me.  Amen.

I WANT TO SEE THE GOOD

I myself am convinced… that you yourselves are full of goodness…(Romans 15: 14)

Father, make this day different for me. Let me magnify whatever good there is in the people around me. Amen.

DO NOT LET ME WANDER AGAIN

Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep. (Luke 15:6)

Lord, do no let me wander far from You again. Today, grant me a special grace so that before I step out of bed, I will step into Your presence;  as I start to make this day good, I will start this day with God. Amen.

HEAL MY WOUNDS

LORD, my God, deal kindly with me… in your great mercy rescue me. For I am sorely in need; my heart is pierced within me. (Psalm 109: 21-22)

My Jesus, I lift up to you the people that continue to cause me pain.  See the fresh wounds inflicted upon me.  Could You please be my healing balm, Lord?

THANK YOU FOR DIFFICULTIES

Brothers and sisters: I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed for us. (Romans 8: 18)

Lord Jesus, although I may be in a difficult situation right now, I hold on to Your promise that what I am presently going through is nothing compared to the glory You will reveal to me later. So thank you, Lord, for the difficulties that will pass away, but most especially for Your promise that will come to pass.  Amen.

MY GOD IS GREATER THAN ALL MY FEARS

Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows. (Luke 12:7)

I say it today: I may feel afraid, but the power of fear has no grip on me. For my God who says He will keep me safe is greater than any known power and He will keep His word forever. Amen.

DON’T GIVE UP ON ME

God sent Christ to be our sacrifice… And God did this to show that… he was right to be patient and forgive sinners.  (Romans 3: 25-26, CEV)

Father, how could I ever fathom Your love? You would rather give up Your only Son who knew no sin than give up on me, a sinner. Thank you, my loving God. Thank you so much. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR A FRIEND

‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey and I have nothing to offer him,’… I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship, he will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence. (Luke 11: 5,6,8)

Lord, this day I lift up to You, not myself, but a friend who has asked for my prayers. (Mention to God the concern of a friend who has requested your prayers.) Jesus, I plead for an overflow of Your goodness to flow over to my friend’s life. I will repeat this prayer throughout the day, believing that when Your people pray for help, You listen and rescue them from their troubles. Amen and amen.

TIME TO LISTEN

And Martha had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. (Luke 10: 39)

Lord, during my moments of prayer, when it’s time for me to listen to You, lovingly place your finger on my lips. Then, whisper to my heart. Amen.

EXTEND YOUR HAND AND MINE

Go, eat… and drink… and allot portions to those who had nothing prepared. (Nehemiah 8:10)

Lord, today as I ask You to extend Your hand to provide for people who are in lack, extend, too, MY OWN HANDS to do no less. Amen.
